About Us

Evolve is a locally owned, family business. Dwight and Katherine, along with their daughter Kecia, all have roots in Moose Jaw.

Dwight grew up on a farm near Briercrest and has been farming since he was very young. His passion for and understanding of agriculture has translated into an interest in the sourcing of quality coffee and an understanding of how the variables in coffee farming affect the beans. As a long-time coffee enthusiast, he discovered years ago the incomparable difference between fresh-roasted, quality coffee and pre-ground coffee in a tin.

Dwight has now been roasting coffee for eight years. He places a high value on consistency, accuracy and bringing out the best flavours in our beans as well as providing a nice selection of flavour profiles for our customers to experience.

Katherine also grew up on a farm outside of Moose Jaw, moving to town with her family when she was 10 years old. After marrying Dwight, she left the workforce to raise and homeschool their three children. She led various church ministries and with her gift of hospitality has hosted many dinners, gatherings and events. She inherited a strong work ethic and the ability to help people feel welcome.

A few years ago, after her children had left the house, she had the desire to go back to work. She started in the role of Administrative Assistant at a local shelter. This experience has allowed her to take on the administrative work for our business. Katherine invests a lot of time in our employees and occasionally bakes with her speciality being delicious breads, buns, cinnamon buns and pies.

Kecia grew up with an interest in and love for coffee and baking. She started working at a coffee shop – her dream job – while in high school. She has now been in the industry for 15 years and her passion for coffee has continued to grow. She became a certified barista in 2012 and continues to expand her knowledge with research and practice. Kecia manages social media, spends time training and educating staff to build their knowledge and skillset, researches and experiments with new methods and trends, and works alongside Katherine to make our vision come to life. She also occasionally bakes, her favorites to create being macarons, cupcakes, scones, cakes and donuts. Her creativity is responsible for our signature drinks and menu.
